Safe
The WALDIS Ultra Safe is the world’s toughest safe to crack, at least as far as commercial safes go. I am currently inside what is said to be the hardest safe in the world to break into or even enter. Most people call it Fort Knox. I call it an opportunity to become a free man.
My life of crime has led me to this moment, staring at a safe with several tons of steel standing between me and the gold that lies inside. You probably have several questions, like, “How did he get in there?” or “Who made you do it?” and so on.
Well, I got in here because I have a particular ability, one that nobody else in the world has. Now when I tell you what that ability is, you might ask yourself, “Why would someone with that ability turn to a life of crime? Why would he try to steal from Fort Knox?” and so on.
The reason, of course, is the 14K Triad, a ruthless gang from Hong Kong. When they tell you to do something… well, you do it.
So here I sit trying to break into something no one else has successfully done. I sit here with seven tons of steel to get through, and a 9mm pistol pressed to my skull. The men with me are part of the 14K Triad. They have been planning this heist for years. I know nothing except my job, opening the safe. I am their tool.
I place my hand on the vault door as the man behind me in his snazzy suit begins to scream, escalating a situation that was already completely out of hand. Dead U.S. soldiers are scattered across the floor. These men surely used me as a tool, a tool for death and chaos.
I digress.
The safe pops open immediately.
I look down at the paper they made me write and read the last few lines aloud.
“The man places his hand on the vault, and the seven-ton door opens effortlessly.”
I pause, smiling slightly.
“The authorities will later discover the massacre and conclude the 14K Triad was responsible for the attack on Fort Knox.”
My eyes move to the final line.
“The writer folds the paper, steps inside the vault, and becomes the richest and most powerful villain the world will never know exists.”
I fold the paper carefully.
After all, when I write something down…
It happens.
